Day 1: God separated light and dark matter

There are two kinds of matter: normal matter (baryonic) and dark matter. The thing is, most of the public doesn’t know anything about dark matter.

Google defines matter as a physical substance in general, as distinct from mind and spirit; (in physics) that which occupies space and possesses rest mass, especially as distinct from energy.

Baryonic matter constantly emits electromagnetic radiation at frequencies solely dependent on temperature. A small portion of the emitted radiation is in a frequency detected by our eyes and what we call “light.” The rest are different types, such as infrared radiation, not visible to the naked eye.

That being said, there is 20 times as much dark matter in the universe as there is normal matter. If we bump into it, it passes right through us.

The only way the two types of matter interact is that both are affected by gravity, and gravity bends light. Therefore, we see starlight as bent. So, the position of a star is slightly off (gravitational lens).

With this information, we refer to the Bible and when it talks about light.

In Genesis 1:3-4, it says, “And God said ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light. And God saw the light, and it was good, and God divided the light from the darkness.”

Many people believe that this is talking about day and night, but, when we refer to the different kinds of matter, it may vary well be talking about them. This is about separating particles—the dark and normal matter. God moved them apart from each other in space.

God created “light” as normal, or visible, matter. And the darkness was the dark matter.

In Genesis 5-6, it reads: “5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morningthe first day.”

This didn’t make sense when I first read it. Not with matter in mind. But, keep in mind that normal matter emits electromagnetic radiation, which is literally what makes us able to see matter. Day and night are not units of time, it seems, but more about the different between the dark and the light. The earth didn’t yet have days and nights, because the earth was not rotating yet.

So, these verses are not about time, but separating matter.
